Why GoodnessCO Was Created
In a time when loneliness, disconnection, and division continue to rise, many people are quietly searching for something deeper: meaningful relationships, hopeful conversations, opportunities to contribute, and a stronger sense of connection to the communities where they live.
In 2023, the U.S. Surgeon General identified loneliness and social isolation as a growing public health crisis affecting nearly half of all adults in America. Yet alongside that reality is something equally powerful: people are hungry for belonging, participation, encouragement, and genuine human connection.
GoodnessCO began as Connect for Good, created in response to a simple need: more meaningful ways for people to connect, belong, and contribute in community.
Rooted in the Grand Valley, GoodnessCO creates welcoming spaces where people gather around tables, share meals, exchange ideas, build trust, discover opportunities, and strengthen relationships across community life.
Many people want to make a difference but don’t know where to begin. Others feel disconnected from traditional leadership spaces, unsure whether their voice, story, lived experience, or gifts truly matter.

Meet the Founder
Porcia Silverberg is a nonprofit executive, community-builder, leadership facilitator, author, and relational strategist who has spent more than 25 years helping people and organizations strengthen relationships, develop leaders, build social capital, and turn connection into meaningful engagement and contribution.
An immigrant from Taiwan, Porcia has spent much of her life navigating questions of identity, belonging, opportunity, and what it means to find—and create—your place in community. Those experiences shaped a deeply relational approach to leadership grounded in curiosity, dignity, generosity, and the belief that every person carries gifts and assets worth discovering.
Her career has crossed nonprofit leadership, community engagement, leadership development, entrepreneurship, media, facilitation, and cross-sector collaboration. She founded the National Center for Community Relations (NCCR) in Denver, an early “chamber of community” designed to strengthen relationships across cultures and sectors.
In Silicon Valley, Porcia served for nearly nine years as Executive Director of Thrive Alliance, the Alliance of Nonprofits for San Mateo County, where she convened nonprofit leaders, strengthened cross-sector relationships, advocated for the nonprofit sector, and helped build a more connected network of organizations serving the region.
Her work has also included creating and hosting You Belong Here, a television series featuring the stories and leadership journeys of immigrant women; developing board-leadership and community-engagement experiences; and facilitating gatherings that help people see one another—and what becomes possible together—differently.
Today, Porcia is the founder of GoodnessCO and creator of Netweaving™, a relationship-centered practice that helps people uncover hidden assets, build social capital, and turn connection into engagement, contribution, and opportunity.
Through Purpose Forums, Possibility Gatherings, Board Connect, leadership development, writing, speaking, and other evolving experiences, she continues exploring a lifelong question:
