August 2026 Newsletter
“Your events always warm my heart and bring tears to my eyes. It renews my love of our community.”
Hello Netweaver,
A new chapter is officially beginning.
Connect for Good is growing into GoodnessCO—the next chapter of the same relationship-centered work: creating welcoming spaces where people gather, stories unfold, meaningful connections grow, and new possibilities begin.
The name is changing, but the heart of the work remains the same: helping goodness become more visible, more active, and more widely shared throughout our community.
This month’s Purpose Forum is also about new chapters.
On Wednesday, August 26, we’ll gather for New Chapters: Different seasons. Enduring purpose. Our conversation will feature Will Hays, CEO of Hilltop Community Resources, and Angela Christensen, former D51 Foundation Executive Director.
Together, they’ll help us explore how purpose changes shape across different seasons of life and leadership.
Sometimes a new chapter is highly visible: a new role, a new responsibility, a new place to lead.
Sometimes it is quieter: a shift in identity, a season of discernment, a different way of contributing, or the realization that our wisdom and relationships still have somewhere meaningful to go.
Leadership does not end when a title or role changes. It adapts, continues, and finds new expression.
And for those carrying a question, transition, dream, challenge, or emerging possibility, our August Possibility Gathering offers another way to participate. This intimate, guided circle is limited to five people and creates space for shared imagination, encouragement, and fresh perspective.
There are many beautiful ways to matter.
There are many meaningful ways to participate.
I hope you’ll join us around the table.

First Possibility Gathering
Our first Possibility Gathering brought together a small circle of curious, thoughtful people for an evening of shared imagination, encouragement, and fresh perspective. Each person brought something they were pondering—a question, idea, transition, or possibility—and left with new ways of seeing, meaningful connection, and more hope than they arrived with.

A Small Invitation With a Big Ripple
What a Wonderful World video
Sometimes goodness is easiest to notice when we see it moving across generations: a shared song, a gentle smile, a familiar melody, a moment of beauty passed from one person to another.
This sweet video featuring What a Wonderful World is a simple reminder that wonder is still here—between ages, across stories, and inside the everyday faces of community.
May it offer you a small pause, a little hope, and a reason to notice what is still beautiful.

Local Act of Goodness
Each month, we’ll highlight simple yet powerful acts of generosity happening across the Grand Valley—because community health grows through everyday contributions.
💚 In the wake of the Snyder Fire and the heartbreaking loss of firefighters who served with courage, leaders across the Grand Valley moved quickly and quietly to create a way for the community to respond.
A community fund established through Alpine Bank to support the families of the fallen firefighters has grown to approximately $240,000, including Alpine Bank’s initial $25,000 contribution. It is a powerful reflection of what happens when people, organizations, and leaders come together with generosity, care, and shared purpose.
The fund remains open through August 31, and there is still time to contribute.

Monthly updates from Mesa County
We Asked. You Responded. Here's What's Next.
Every few years, Mesa County asks residents to participate in a community survey. The goal isn't simply to collect data. It's to better understand the community's priorities, identify opportunities for improvement and measure how we're doing over time.
This year, hundreds of residents shared their perspectives on county services, quality of life and communication. Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate.
Now the work begins.
Survey results help county leaders identify trends, understand what matters most to residents and make more informed decisions about services, communication and future planning. The results don't determine policy on their own, but they provide valuable insight that helps shape priorities and guide discussions.
One finding that stands out is the trust residents place in Mesa County as a source of information. That's encouraging, and it's also a responsibility we take seriously. We will continue working to provide timely, accurate and transparent information that helps residents stay informed.
The survey also highlights opportunities to improve. Feedback from residents helps us identify where communication can be clearer, where services can be strengthened and where we should focus our efforts moving forward.
Community input is most valuable when it leads to action. That's why we asked, why we listened and why we'll continue sharing what we learned and how we're using those insights.
Thank you for helping shape the future of Mesa County.
